Color matching your wheels is a very difficult thing to pull off. Black on Black is fine. White on white works too if done right. But color matching anything else gets tricky. You have to have the right paint color and wheel combination for it work. Peach on Peach on stock wheels is one way that it doesn't work. I really hope he used Plasti Dip...

Given the part of town it was in, I completely agree. Homie just couldn't roll on stock lookin' wheels while waiting for his lift kit and his 26's to come in at the local ColorTyme.

Yellow-on-yellow usually works!
Also, I can't think of a time white-on-white doesn't work.

Allow me to provide a few examples. Maybe it's just down to my own personal distaste of the wheels themselves, but I digress.

I once saw a red Panamotherofgod with... I kid you not... red RIYUMZ and red brake calipers.
Didn't take a pic because I wanted my phone to stay functional.

Outside of black on black, color matched wheels need chrome accents and/or steel wheels.

I don't know what's worse, that or the Panamera I saw at my old job at a Porsche dealership with the a knock-off version of the Mansory body kit.

Gross. I can't believe you went looking for that ugliness. But you'll notice that these folks all used chrome accents to supplement the white-out.

The thing is, though, they wouldn't look any better in any other color. If wheels look good on a white car, then they'd look good in white.

Why would anyone want their car to look like a car from Mansory?!

VW did a good job with these wheels on my '02...

Very true. Which reverts back to my comment of "Maybe it's just down to my own personal distaste of the wheels themselves, but I digress." that preceded these pics. I guess when I picture white on white, the above images are what pop in to my head. I very rarely see cars done properly in that combination. Like that old breakup line, it's not them, it's me, lol.

Well they bought a base model Panamera V6, so they're obviously prone to making bad decisions.

True, but it'd be different if the wheels were completely yellow. The accents aren't overwhelming and in your face.

Well, there's mine for one example. :D
But for a less-biased example, while I don't generally like the car, I think the triple-white Sebring pulls it off very well:
